Where: 42 West Entertainment - 1088 Huff Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30318

Our Minds Matter is an annual event series, initiated in 2023 to commemorate World Mental Health Day, with a focus on promoting BIPOC Mental Health Awareness. The theme this year is: “Suppressed pain to Empowerment: Healing Trauma Together”. This psychoeducational and networking event features live music, a vendor fair highlighting Black-owned businesses, food, drinks and a panel with experts who provide evidence-based guidance and support. Additionally, an open forum enables attendees to pose questions and obtain tailored information to address their specific needs. Our panel is comprised of: Popularly known Psychologist and Producer of MTV's Teen Mom, Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, TED Talk speaker and psychologist Dr. Curtis Jasper, Social Worker and wellness advocate Mallory Cary, and Physician Assistant and addiction medicine expert Dr. Olatunde Oshikoya.

The event has expanded to encompass a diverse array of health and wellness vendors offering complimentary services and expert insights. This event serves as a platform designed to raise awareness about mental health among people of color. Its primary objectives include destigmatizing mental health challenges and offering resources to underprivileged communities. Proceeds from this fundraising effort directly support the “Healing Hearts: Mental Health Scholarship Program”, our flagship initiative which provides reduced-cost mental health services to BIPOC individuals (youth and adults) experiencing financial challenges.

*** By registering to attend, you will be automatically entered into our raffle contest for a chance to win a 4-night, 5-day all-inclusive vacation to the Caribbean. The winner will be announced at the event. ***
